Canadian Solar 450W TOPHiKu6 N-type TOPCon Solar Module - Full Black

The Canadian Solar 450W TOPHiKu6 N-type TOPCon Solar Module – Full Black is a high-performance PV module designed for residential and commercial installations where strong output, long-term reliability and a clean visual finish are all important. With its all-black appearance, the module is particularly well suited to rooftops where aesthetics matter, while still delivering the electrical performance expected from modern N-type solar technology.

Built using Canadian Solar’s TOPHiKu6 platform, this 450W module uses N-type TOPCon cells to improve energy yield and reduce long-term performance losses. The module achieves a rated power output of 450W with a module efficiency of 22.5%, offering installers a strong balance of power density and manageable module size. Its lower temperature coefficient of -0.29%/°C helps support better performance in warmer operating conditions, while the datasheet also highlights excellent anti-LeTID and anti-PID performance for improved long-term output stability.

The CS6.2-48TD 450W variant has an operating voltage of 44.8V, operating current of 10.05A, open circuit voltage of 52.9V and short circuit current of 10.68A under STC conditions. It is rated for a maximum system voltage of 1500V and has a maximum series fuse rating of 20A, giving system designers flexibility across a wide range of PV system layouts.

Mechanical durability is another key benefit of this module. The panel uses a dual-glass construction with 2.0mm heat strengthened front glass with anti-reflective coating and 2.0mm heat strengthened back glass, supported by an anodised aluminium alloy frame. The module measures 1762 x 1134 x 30mm and weighs 24.6kg. It is tested for heavy snow loads up to 6000Pa and wind loads up to 4000Pa, helping provide confidence in demanding rooftop environments.

For installers, the module includes an IP68 junction box with three bypass diodes, 4mm² cable and connector options listed as T6, MC4-EVO2 or MC4-EVO2A. As with any PV module, connector type should be confirmed for the supplied batch and only matched with compatible connectors in line with manufacturer guidance.

Canadian Solar backs the TOPHiKu6 All-Black range with a 25-year product warranty on materials and workmanship and a 30-year linear power performance warranty. The datasheet states first-year power degradation is no more than 1%, followed by annual degradation of no more than 0.4%, supporting long-term system performance and return on investment.
