Supplied as a pre-assembled and factory-tested solution, the CSS-OD significantly reduces installation time and commissioning effort. The cabinet can be installed indoors or outdoors and features integrated lifting eye bolts for easier positioning on site. Configuration is streamlined using the SolarEdge Go mobile application, while systems can be expanded to deliver up to 2.1MWh of total storage capacity, making the platform suitable for everything from small commercial premises to larger industrial facilities.

The CSS-OD integrates seamlessly with SolarEdge ONE for Commercial & Industrial sites, enabling intelligent site energy management and optimisation. Businesses can benefit from multiple operating modes including self-consumption, peak shaving, tariff optimisation, import and export limitation, helping to reduce energy costs and improve return on investment. When paired with the compatible SolarEdge Battery Inverter, the system is also designed to provide backup power during grid outages, with backup functionality supported via a future firmware update.

Safety is a key design priority throughout the CSS-OD platform. Protection is implemented at cell, module, cluster and cabinet level, with integrated fire detection and Novec 1230 fire suppression, smoke detection, reverse polarity protection, earth fault detection, surge protection, toxic gas monitoring and physical security sensors including flood, heat, door and pressure monitoring. These multiple layers of protection provide confidence for installers, facility managers and end users alike.

The battery cabinet features a robust IP54-rated enclosure with built-in HVAC cooling for reliable operation in demanding environments. It operates across temperatures from -30°C to +50°C (with derating above 45°C), supports installation at altitudes up to 3,000m and is backed by a 10-year product warranty with an 8,000-cycle performance warranty to 70% state of health.
