Solis S6 8kW 1 Phase Hybrid Inverter with DC - 2 MPPT for LV Batteries

The Solis S6-EH1P8K-L-PLUS is an 8kW single-phase hybrid inverter designed for higher-demand residential systems that want to pair solar PV with low-voltage battery storage and retain power to essential circuits during outages. It combines PV generation, battery charging/discharging, export control and backup functionality in one robust platform—ideal for larger homes, high-consumption sites, or properties adding EV charging and electrified heating.

With 2 MPPTs and support for flexible string design, the inverter is built to maximise PV yield while staying future-proof. The datasheet highlights PV oversizing up to 160% of the inverter’s rated DC power, plus compatibility with higher-power modules thanks to support for up to 21A PV input current (model dependent in the range). The PV side supports 500V max DC input, 90V start-up voltage, and an MPPT operating range of 90–435V.

For storage, it supports low-voltage batteries between 40–60V (Li-ion or lead-acid). On the 8kW model, the datasheet specifies up to 8kW max battery charge/discharge power and up to 190A max charge/discharge current (battery dependent), making it well suited to strong peak shaving, time-of-use optimisation, and higher backup loads.

Backup capability is a key benefit of the PLUS platform. The inverter provides a dedicated backup output with <10ms switching and can deliver 200% overload for 10 seconds in off-grid mode, supporting stable start-up for motor loads such as pumps and compressors. It also includes smart load management and a customisable battery backup reserve level to extend runtime for critical circuits.

Installer-friendly features include an IP66 enclosure for harsh environments, a large 7-inch industrial-grade LCD for local commissioning and operation, and connectivity including Wi-Fi + LAN + Bluetooth as standard (with optional 2G/3G/4G). The system can also scale via parallel operation up to 6 units, allowing larger single-phase storage solutions where required.
