PV voltage must exceed battery voltage by at least 5V for start-up; minimum operating PV voltage thereafter is battery voltage +1V. If connected PV power exceeds the controller limit, input power will be limited. A PV array with higher short-circuit current may damage the controller. Bluetooth monitoring requires a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle.
Maximum efficiency exceeds 98%. Ultra-fast MPPT is stated to improve energy harvest by up to 30% compared with PWM charge controllers and by up to 10% compared with slower MPPT controllers. No cooling fan is fitted.
